Privacy Policy

Free Brain is designed to help an individual manage distractions on their own Apple device. This policy explains how Free Brain handles information when you use the app.

Information stored on your device

Free Brain stores your configuration and progress locally on your device. This may include:

• the Modes and Mode names you create;
• Apple Family Controls selection tokens for the apps, categories, and web domains you choose;
• website domains you enter;
• recurring Schedule names, days, and times;
• lock-session dates, durations, and emergency-unlock status; and
• preferences such as hold durations and onboarding state.

This information is used to operate Free Brain's blocking, scheduling, and Activity features. Free Brain does not operate a cloud account or sync service for this information. Deleting the app removes its local app data, subject to Apple's normal device backup and restoration behavior.

Apple's Family Controls framework represents selected apps and websites with opaque tokens. Icarus Universe LLC does not receive a readable list of the apps represented by those tokens. Your selections are used on your device to apply the Screen Time shields you request.

Screen Time access

Free Brain requests Apple's individual Family Controls authorization only after you initiate the request. Authorization applies to your own device. Free Brain is not a parental-control or employee-monitoring service and does not provide another person with access to your device activity. You can change Screen Time authorization through Apple's system settings. Removing authorization may prevent blocking and scheduling features from working.

Purchases and service providers

Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Icarus Universe LLC does not receive your payment-card or bank-account details.

Free Brain may use RevenueCat, Inc. to validate App Store receipts, determine subscription or lifetime-purchase entitlement status, prevent purchase fraud, and provide aggregate purchase analytics. RevenueCat may process an app-specific anonymous user identifier, purchase and subscription history, receipt information, and basic app/device context for those purposes.

Free Brain does not intentionally send RevenueCat your name, email address, Screen Time selections, Mode contents, Schedules, or Activity history. We do not use its advertising-attribution integrations, sell its data, or use its services to track you across apps or websites for advertising. Its policy is available at RevenueCat Privacy Policy. If the version of Free Brain you use does not enable this purchase service, no information is sent to RevenueCat by the app. Apple may independently process purchase and device information under Apple's own privacy policy.

Data we do not sell or use for advertising

Icarus Universe LLC does not sell your personal data. Free Brain does not contain third-party advertising and does not use App Tracking Transparency identifiers or cross-app tracking for advertising or advertising measurement.

Retention

Local configuration and Activity information remain on your device until you delete them through the app, reset the app, or delete the app. Purchase processors retain transaction and service records according to their agreements, legal obligations, and published policies. Apple retains App Store transaction records under Apple's policies.

Your choices

You control which apps, categories, and websites to select, whether to grant Screen Time access, which Modes or Schedules to create, and whether to make a purchase. You may revoke Screen Time access in system settings and delete Free Brain to remove locally stored app data. Because Free Brain does not require an account and does not intentionally associate local focus data with your real-world identity, we generally cannot retrieve or export that local data for you. For purchase support, Apple or RevenueCat may use an anonymous app-specific identifier or App Store transaction information to locate an entitlement.

Children

Free Brain is a general-audience self-management app and is not directed specifically to children. It does not knowingly collect names, contact details, or Screen Time selections from children. The app does not allow a parent or guardian to control a child's device.

Security

We limit processing to what is needed to provide the app and purchase functionality. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we and our processors use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information handled.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when Free Brain's features, service providers, or legal requirements change. We will update the effective date above and make the revised policy publicly available. Material changes will be communicated where required by law.
